What is the latest Map version in C43 Comand NTG5.5

I have a 2018 C43 AMG car and my current map version is 2020 (V14.0) Europe. Does anyone know if there is a later release (as there have been many changes in the roads and speed limits in our area).

If there is a later release what is the most economical way to update it as I understand it can be quite costly.

If you are in warranty then there should be a map update option.

Login to your account, choose your vehicle, then you you should see the services available.

Online map update, software update, etc

My car is just in warranty. I have looked and it says under Your Updates section

'You're up to date.'

There is no specific mention of the map and so it must be included in that message meaning it is up to date... hence V14 it is.

I am on V20 on E Class with NTG 5.5 that was released in February.

Are you sure you are not NTG 5.2, which has V14 as latest?

I believe you have NTG5*2 on a 2018 C Class (same as my GLC). The dealers updated mine to V14 when it was serviced in November. You get three years free if and then it becomes payable so might be worth asking but dealers normally say it’s up to date to save themselves a job,

Phone the guys at ComandOnline and ask whether there is anything more recent.

From the VIN Spec list for my car, it says:

TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION
TORQUE DISTRIBUTION 31/69

Hence I presumed my Comand unit was 5.5 (I didn't know about 5.2 as that is not listed)

Is there a method to find the actual version of the Comand unit fitted - are there any menu options to view it. If anyone knows, could you please list it step by step.

Your spec list is like mine and says NTG5/NTG5.5. NTG5 comes in two versions, NTG5*1 and NTG5*2. Yours is definitely 5*2, like mine.

I know this is an old post of mine and the reason for adding to it is because all of my ME services (Navigation Package, Excellence Package and Remote Package) run out in a few days and I have just received an email from Mercedes inviting me to renew. They didn't say how much in the email and so I had to phone MB customer services.

Over the years I have not had a map update and when I telephoned Mercedes customer services just now to find the cost of renewing the SatNav service I was told £119 pa. I asked them to confirm there would actually be an update and he said it was done 'over the air', but then when he checked my vehicle VIN retracted his statement and said this facility was not available on my model and so it had to be done manually. My car is 2018 C43 (Comand unit 5.2) and wondered if any other owner can offer me advice or reassurance as to whether I will actually get a map update or will I just be paying for nothing. Please don't ask me to contact my dealer to check this as I have tried and they always promise to get back to me but don't - they don't even bother to let you know if there are any map updates or what the current version is. Incidentally, the reason I keep looking for this update because where I live the map is hopelessly out of date.

Also, do you think it is worth renewing the Excellence and Remote packages as they seem a bit pricey.

What version are you on at present ? You can find out from the satnav options, as for the packages I renewed the ones I use and let the others run out

I am still on V14 and the dealer, when contacted, could not tell me what the current version was and repeatedly promised to get back to me when they find, but never do. It doesn't instill me with much confidence.

Is there any supplier who can supply a bone-fide download to do it yourself or is it locked into the dealership?

Hi Steve yes there has been an update from V14 it’s a plug in download not a over the air one there is possibly V16 due out in 23 it’s about £120 to have updated at dealership so il get it done at next service in Dec

Yes, our cars (I have a 2018 GLC) have to be done at the dealer. I’ve had three free years but will have to pay for the next update. I did renew my Mercedes Me packages last year as I find it useful to have remote access and I like the Live Traffic feature (despite all its faults), The maps update is not part of the Mercedes Me packages for our cars.

Thanks Srdi for clarifying it for me. I will go with the remote access package and not bother with the nav package as they would probably need the car in for a day to do that.

I took the exact same packages out on mine esp the remote package comes in handy and couldn’t be without live traffic info for work
