On my A Class it is the off switch on the Parktronic.
It shouts at you when it senses the door frames of the garage as you enter, the palings of the fence along the driveway , adjacent cars at the lights but ignores things you would like to be warned of like high kerbs or the neighbours cat you are about to reverse over.
If spec`ing one for purchase don`t waste money on this, go for something more useful like a nodding dog for the parcel shelf.

In a car like a CLK cab parktronic is a must as the visability is poor when parking etc.

Heated seats are the best thing since sliced bread.

Heated seat were nice in Sweden, and in the SL with the top down in the winter, but I dont like sliced bread

Keyless go is very good, but expensive if you forget to take the key out of your pocket when doing the washing

No this one is quite strong, my problem is I keep money in one back pocket, keylees card in the other and my cards in the wallet, and the wallet is too big for the pocket

1. Cruise control - used lots both on and off motorway, also in clear 40 & 50 zones where otherwise I might drift upwards and get a ticket. I hope that my next MB has the version with speed limiter and ideally Distronic.

2. APS 30 Sat Nav - not so much for the navigation but for the ETA calculation which is a big stress reducer for reassuring me that I'm not late for a meeting. So good I use it with the speech off on journeys I know well.

I would not want to be without Distronic after having it, it is great, if that was coupled to the sytem on the Lexus where the car fllows the white line in the road I could sit in the rear seat if I had one

This will cease to be a problem when EU proposal E77640 to have all residents of the EU microchipped is ratified in Council. The keyless system will then be able to be recognise the approved users without them having to carry any fob or card. I understand the only impediment to final assent is the tricky decision of where to stick the microchip.

Eric, when I saw the subject, I though I'll nominate my Parktronic....;-(

I love it and would not swap to a car without it, yes it beeps when someone crosses the road too close in traffic and when going in and out of the drive but it means you can park and reverse without concern for doing the bumpers in. Just chech the bumpers of cars with parktronic and those without, scuffs and scraped abound.

Just remember Parktronic does not make the mirrors redundant, I only rely on it for reversing up to objects/cars and when pulling in and out of a parking space. Invaluable.

When the top is down on the SL and someone walks behind even if I am not moving they shout at me

No No no, they just waste all of the energy and motion that you have built up,

touch the brakes and its all gone

The most important accessory is my TomTom unit with Speed Camera Database installed.

Accessories fitted by MB, has to be the seat belt holders that present themselves to you before driving off. Nothing worse than having to stretch behind to grab a seat belt in a 2 door coupe. Especially as you get older......

Don't the rear sensors only work in N or R?

Unless you always shift to N when in traffic?

Yes correct, I may have reverse engaged when parked waiting to pull out, but not moving as people are there, but they are the ones moving and not me, same for the front
