What is this thing in my CLK

I've never noticed them before but on both sides of the car, inside, just above the seat belt restaint, on the pillar to roof are black 'triangle shaped boxes' that look like they have 3 little infra red panels (they might not be infra red - but look like that kinda design)

Are they some sort of gadget by any chance or just a cover for something ?!?!?!

No idea. I know they're not the source of an irritating rattling in my car around that area, though.

I have an annoying "buzz" in that area. Tracked it down to the cover on the seatbelt hight adjuster. Only happens when its hot outside!

Part of the alarm system?. Interior movement sensors?. Is there nothing in your handbook to explain their function?.

George is right , there are the interior motion sensors for the alarm, same used in the 202, 210.

The clk cab came without them for obvious reasons ( no b Piller). On P.D.I a set of ultra sonic sensors were installed on the A piller to meet britsh standards.
