What Mobil 1 Oil for Service ? - Service Due Thursday, what

Hi,

My E240 is due an "A" service this Thursday. As I'll be taking my own oil, what grade can I use ? Ideally I'd like to use the 0W/40 grade, or will I have to use 15W/40 ?

What Mobil 1 Oil for Service ?

If it's any help I used Mobil 1 0W/40 in my SLK320. This is the usual one. Both 0W/40 and 15W/50 are on the recommended list for 2000 onward cars. I use 0W/40 because it probably gets round a cold engine quicker and that's when most wear occurs.

I went out and bought 0W/40 at lunchtime, thinking being that at the last service it had 7.5 litres of Castrol R which is 0W/40, and I'm a big fan of Mobil 1. Only downside is the price, but I'll get my folks to get some from the continent next time they're over.
