Just bought some Bosch FR7KTC plugs from Eurocar Parts. From memory they were about £2.80 each inc VAT and if you order from their web site postage is free. The vehicle is a 98 'V'. To replace them I assume the 'red' engine cover comes off by removing the hex screws. Hopefully this will expose the plugs and leads.
Thanks for that...my reason for asking is a little long winded..I had my SLK serviced in January, when it gets hot it has a very slight misfire on tickover..now I am not saying the garage that serviced it lied, but I have found them to be 'economical' with the truth, I noticed on the bill that the plugs were £2.15 each, now I can't get them that cheap for my C class, so I took one out, it was marked F80 C4 made by Bosch with the Merc Star on.
Under the bonnet of my car there is a picture of a spark plug and the letters F7DCR4, which I am guessing is the plugs that should be in there.
I rang my main dealer this afternoon and told them the plugs that were fitted and they told me they was the wrong plugs and the right plugs were £8 each.....
