What to look for in a 2000-2001 CLK 55 AMG

Hi Chaps,

I am a relatively new to this site and would like to gain some buying advice on a CLK 55 AMG, have seen a few on ebay and Pistonheads at the £8k mark and wondered what do i need to look for when buying one of these monsters!

They are fairly tough mechanically. You need to check for rust on the rear arches, front wings where they meet the bumper, and on the bootlid around lock and plinth/lifting handle.

Cats occasionally fail and aren't cheap, brakes slightly pricey.

Then usual points for all 202 c class, like front lower ball joints, steering dampers...

Starting to get quite a few comand units with lazy lasers now, have trouble initialising sat nav disc.

Don't let this put you off though, all you really need is a good fix of that exhaust note and you'll be hooked!!!
