Okay, probably been done before, but what would you have & why?

I'll start the ball rolling with;
300SEL6.3 (must be in silver,no alloys)-the ultimate Q car?
280SL Pagoda-just special(and my beloved approves/agrees)
Lancia Stratos-for the noise & sci fi looks
C63 estate-for my dog & shopping.

Either a 600 pullman W100 or a W111 coupe/convertable, for those lovely warm summer lazy days, of touring the lovely parts of our beautiful country with one's lovely lady.

W124 500E debadged, for being such a reasonably simple but proper competent sporting saloon car.

From the days when MB's looked like their own vehicles and to hell with fashion or what the competition made.

More modern,

If they didn't have such corrosion problems a CL500 W215, possibly the prettiest coupe of the last 10 years.

I really don't find newer MB's very nice to look at, each to their own, for a modern car i'd like a Dodge Charger, despite its dreadful interior.
On the subject of interiors, one of the nicest to me was the better versions of the Rover 75, sort of like a 50's gentlemens club, and i'd like a V8 one of those tucked away for patriotic reasons, and of course to keep it company a Rover P5 coupe in blue with cream leather.

As I have had 468 cars (owned more that 3 months) and that includes Maserati, exoctic alpha's, every Jag made up to 1993, and Vintage Rolls Royce, I would love a SEC 126, that's all

Jeez Bolide!
Would you like to move in with my missus for a couple of weeks-hopefully she wouldn't give me such a hard time over my 'follies' then!
I'd love an E500 too, just a shame about the LHD bit.I digress a bit,but I once had to do some work on one that had had an AMG 6litre conversion, awesome. And it still looked pretty much standard to the untrained eye too.

A John Dodd "rolls Royce" - google it if you don't know what I mean. I rear about it as a little boy and new I'd have to have this "creation".

A Maclaren F1 for high days and holidays

An MB SLR hard top for grand touring

An S class 65AMG for grand touring in comfort

An R8 Audi for day to day thrills

A Caterham or KTM Xbow for trackdays

And an E class estate for daily comfort.

That's the one!

I met Spen King on Anglesey many years ago when Autocar were testing the then-new P38 Rangie. Maurice Wilks used to have a farm on Anglesey and it was there that he had the idea for the original Range Rover. So Autocar tool the new car back there. Spen was very humble

The original Range Rover is still, to my mind, one of the all-time great car designs

Thats called "The Beast" and no longer has the RR grill on it, he was forced to remove it, it belongs to his son now.

Iconic, Ive broken some 80 classic range rovers, all 1990-1995 3.9 SE and 4.2 LSE, great design just badly made.
I bought that CSK for £1200, it needed sills and brake pipes, other than that it was in near mint condition but sadly I broke it for parts, made a fortune, engine went to a chap in Portugal £1200, doors £500 each, rear wings £300 each, seats and door cards £650, chassis and ID £300. Wish I'd kept it as it drove like no other RR, engine was super smooth with more BHP than standard.

I agree 100%. Just imagine the original Range Rover, designed in Britain, engineered for production in Germany and built in Japan!

I got talking to the owner of a late Land-Rover 90 TDi a while ago. His was one of the last BMW-engineered Land-Rovers with BMW engines when the company was owned by Ford. He said it was beautifully built

It's a shame that domestic companies have been so starved of investment since the 1950s. We could have had a proper automotive industry in the UK if we'd invested wisely

I've seen it in the flesh running at the pod a long time ago now, quite a few vids on You tube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxMxFE37Sxw

There have been quite a few merlin (well technically most of em are not Merlins as they are usually tank engines not aero engines these days) engined cars since the beast though, which itself was the secong version, forst one was molded off a capri!

This one was put together by a guy from Practical Performance car mag, they also built a turbo'd old rolls royce for their budget performance car challenge.

PPC is a good mag to pick up if you see it. :D

I've got to keep this manageable

Porsche 356B convertible, 1961
Jaguar XKE convertible 1961
Mercedes 300SL 1961
Mercedes Pullman 600 1961
Jensen Interceptor FF.

That must be at least equivalent to the GDP of some small country. I'd have to give up work so that i could drive them around a lot. Going shopping in the Pullman would be an absolute hoot.

1961 was good year for many things, not least space flight.
