Hi,

I have just got my A class and every time I turn in the engine and fasten the seatbelt, I get this query alert in the middle of the photo and I don't know what it means. There are no passengers in the backseat. Any idea what does that mean? Thanks!

PS the engine wasn't on when I took the photo.

It’s advising that none of the rear seat belts are fastened.

Thanks for the prompt response. There is no one in the back seat, is this normal even with no one in the back?

Yes, my E Class used to do the same. It’s to show you if anyone in the back has or hasn’t belted up.
As driver you’re responsible for those in the backseat being belted in and so this helps you.

I understand that, it's just no one back there. Thanks anyway for explaining this!

Yes it's normal. If you press 'ok' on steering wheel it goes away. It is just a reminder.

is it not sensing something on the back seat? wouldn't it be a fault if it nagged just for fun?

No occupancy sensors in the rear. It just comes on at startup to tell you if any of the belts are fastened or not.
It will also highlight a change in state of the belts when the ignition is on.
