What's my alarm?

Hi,

I have a left hand 380se auto manufactured 1982 and imported to uk in 1984.

It has an alarm but the model is not mentioned in the paperwork and I don't know where the alarm is on the vehicle.

It's the standard ata alarm.

Does anyone know what it would be?

There were no standard fit alarms on '82 motors. (we had new 380se back in '84 and it didn't have one). It will be whatever the owner fitted I'm afraid.

I have the mercedes instruction booklet on how to use the various keys (red one for door lock, square one for ignition and round one for load to parking attendent etc) to open the doors without the alarm going off.

There is no mention of the alarm make / model on it however.

Would a mercedes garage be able to tell from the vin number?
