Maybe it was just a hoot to drive(I once had an Uno turbo that was too fast for its' own good & downright lethal in the wet!).
Or perhaps it was just special in a way that's impossible to explain-think Pagoda SL's(a car that I still dream about owning, along with the 6.3).
But for me,the most fun car that I've ever owned was a Trabant!
Why?
Because it was just utterly useless in every way!And as for street cred....

A Subaru Impreza WRX STI type R (import 2 door coupe) 555
It had 330hp, and a close ratio gear box, good for 60 in 4.3 seconds (on paper)
I was young and couldn't afford to service it properly (or at all)
Ran it in to the ground, shame
BUT BOY DID I ENJOY IT

A 1960 Chrysler imperial 22 ft long white convertible, it was so long I could not turn it round in my road, and had to reverse out. A few times I would return to it and find it full of girls who wanted a ride. That was a fun car

The Uno felt that fast, but it was just an illusion created by the fact that it wasn't safe!
The Trabby could hit 60 in 4.3 weeks!!

Loved that car, and the only car I have really, really missed. Regretted it before it had even gone. :(

My 200bhp mk5 cortina was to powerfull for its chassis which made it huge fun, and at around a ton in weight it was actually pretty fast if you could get it to grip, just about beats a 4x4 cossie sierra for fun, if your brave enough to go fast enough get em sideways the tyre smoke and fear on your passengers faces is brilliant. :D

Hopefully my silver coupe will be fun when i drop the V8 into it.

205 GTi 1.9 (3 in a row) Great cars and would love another to help my mid thirties crisis along :) Like Malcolm said, I associate cars with certain periods or experiences in life, and at 17 boy did I have fun in that car ;)

My old Celica GT-Four when I had it tweaked up to 360bhp - mentally fast, noisy and thirsty but so much fun that even thinking about going for a drive was enough to put a grin on my face that lasted for days ;) Got rid last year but boy do I miss it...

Cheers,
Mark

A 1986 Citroen CX GTI Turbo. Yes, it broke down most of the time, but when it was working-oh boy! I could spin the wheels in third gear......:D

A Toyota Camry V6 (1992). Superb engine and auto box. Well sorted chassis. Although this has been the most popular mid sized car in the USA for 10 or 20 years in a row, there were probably only 500-600 in the UK when I had mine. Best kept motoring secret in the UK at the time.

Fault free motoring and well equipped. But the fun came when you got going. Extremely quick for that era, it taught me bad habits. The worst was that if I had no one in front of me approaching a roundabout, I just didn't bother slowing down - it did not matter how close or fast the traffic approaching from the right (with right of way) was, they just were not going to catch me, or collide. And they never did.

I'm sure that wakened up a few motorists and probably had a couple of retired colonels go blue in the face, but no cars were ever damaged in the pursuit of my happiness.

Ah well, confession is good for the soul (I still tend to do it in the SL, but don't tell anyone).

My mates all dug in to me when i said i was getting one. they soon shut up when they realsied that yes it is a womans car, but only because everytime you drive you get alot of attention from them. So many young ladies wanted one so came up and asked to look and talk about it.

I'm going to have to be the most boring here  and say that the one I have now is by far the best car I've ever driven. I get in it and I have a smile on my face until I get out (and it's not the massage seats doing it) and I've never been able to say that before.

Hi

1986 Toyota Corolla GT Coupe 1600 Twincam 16v rwd, lsd The ultimate Japanese donut machine.

Regret the sale to this day. Bought it for £2250 sold it 3 years later for £2700. All it ever needed was rear tyres. Funny that.......

230K (sob sob.........Why did you have to remind me)

Had a couple of hot hatches (MK1 Golf GTI,MK1 Escort RS Turbo) but the most fun was an 05 plate Transit. It was a LWB high top in metallic blue. 135hp with traction control and a 6 speed box, it went like a bat out of hell. I shocked so many people at roundabouts and traffic lights. Fun,fun, fun.
