I have just had the 8 hole alloys on my SL refurbished.
When I got the car back the balancing weights on the rims of the wheels had, obviously, been removed to work on the wheels.
Do the wheels need to be rebalanced now ?

Nick.

The answer is yes, but make sure that whoever does the job uses stick on weights, and that they are attached to the rear of the wheel. This method looks far more attractive, and will not give road muck anywhere to "lurk" in future. Any decent firm should automatically do it this way, i suppose my last statement effectivly excludes Kwik fit!!

dealer had it done off-site prior to me buying the car at the weekend, hence the half-arsed job.
Only spotted by me ( and I am a total amateur) when I walked around the car to check it on collection.
When will some bright spark dealer come up with the idea of TRAINING the dimwits who sell you machines worth £20k, £30k +++++++++ ????

Now I have to go to the bother of getting it done in my own time.

(love the car though - 1997 SL320)
