Wheel Protection

Hi,

I have just put on my new AMG alloys and tyres and would like to know if there is any simple spray on solution you can apply after washing for the winter months to protect them from all the salt.

A hard wax is made for the wheels, not much else you can do, and I never ever use a wheel cleaner, but in all fairness I do use Ceramic brake pads with no metal in them.

Currently using Autoglym, but have used Car Plan Alloy Wheel Protection - the latter on alloys on my old Landy Defender..... It really was very effective! Gave the Landy alloys a good spray before they even went on, and the whole rim came up well each and every time...... Even the hard-to-reach inner surfaces.

Sadly the alloys on my C-Class probably do not warrant treatment in their current state!

Yes the wheels on some Mercedes do leave a lot to be desired in the way that they are finished

I hear the Gtech stuff is good, but using up the AG Extra Gloss, which is a sealant first and seems to be okay. What the car today and it is black and it cleaned up very easily.

I waxes my wheels with Swissvax Autobahn in November last year, and they were impeccable when washed last week.
Very good stuff, although a little pricey.
