Probably ok but what car did they come off and are they genuine or aftermarket?
If genuine check they take the same sized bolts as yours.
Early cars use an M12 bolt with R12 radius head. Later cars use M14 bolts with R14 heads.
You cannot safely use M12/R12 bolts on a wheel designed for M14/R14 or vice versa.
You can get special bolts for M14 wheels to be used on an M12 car but you cannot run M12 wheels on an M14 car at all.
haa ,so how would i tell one from the other or what would i have on my car ,or how to find out /looked on line but cant find a vin to work /
'spose dealers
i have the original paper ,came with car 1st owner all in german
well i could not get any info on the previous wheels i asked about but found these amg from a t plate old model clk thats all the info the chap had / could anyone enlighten me on the chances of a fit onto my55 plate clk (m12/r12 bolt) cant find relevant info on google or wiki the amg 235/45/17
Probably. Take a bolt out of yours and fit it into the wheel. You're looking for about 12mm of thread at least.
On first fit slowly turn the wheels through at least two full turns to ensure the bolt doesn't hit the caliper (unlikely) or parking brake mechanism (highly possible).
ok had a little trouble getting camber set ,the guy who set up the car before i bought it had 245 /40s on the front 225/45 on the rear , no wonder i had a little road problem any how swapped the around reset camber ,still not right appears i have 7.5 j all round and et 37 f/and /r /now is it possible to space the rear to aquire the 8.5 . the other option i have found is a set of Mercedes Cygnus Alloys
Sizes are 225/45/17 7.5J ET36 Part no A2094010402
Sizes are 245/40/17 8.5J ET 30 Part no A2094011202

sj
thats great he just got back to me stated there clk have not seen cygnus before , but to get the right set up would be good
the only other 17 are but no info would fit mine older model m12 or these other which is what i was after but wont give info . says come see 160 round trip lol
just a question .ha do all 209 have to run 8.5 rear to get the correct rear camber as mine are 7.5 sh ite after market and is there a sticky for the camber set up on site
regards sj
Use an existing bolt then calculate how more/less is needed to achieve 12mm protrusion through the bolt hole.
When first fitting new bolts put the in, torque them up then spin the wheel listening for it hitting the brakes (especially on the rear).
well it seems there are 2 choices ,ha, 40mm or 28mm some 40s threaded all the shaft some just the end ,looks like 20mm some say 61 mm long (must inc head) some are 40mm
checked autodoc both differ ebay cant guarantee not chinese unless stated next is spot on alloys see what they have
mercedes even with discount is 80 did not ask post and wont give info to help
my after market hub s look different from the merc cygnus and the cars not here at the moment
can anyone be specific on the length of the lug with 8.5 r/7,5 f. i dont think it matters front to rear but there was some spec that mentioned length
