In my Volvo days could burn through a set of front tyres in less than 5,000 with a tweaked V70 T5 - your comment has brought a nostalgic smile to my face, Many thanks.
Know it well. I had an S70 T5 SE for over 100k miles. That had 250hp from the factory. Huge fun.

I know how they look.. but i promise its just a daily drive.. got a new born and new house i can barely afford the bills.. nothing extreme.. reached the point of selling the car because of it.. drives me broke
As suggested earlier, what happens if you put the original wheels and tyres back?

Sold them.. just a swap now will sort it.. but can take ages.. my last mechanic said its the ecu that still thinks that im running 18 inches and its trying to reach the rpm by spreading the 19.. thats the most plausible cause ive heard.. been to more that 10 mechanics and 5 of them said that ive sold me dodgy tyres.. but thats not the case

I’d put some 16” wheels on it and enjoy the comfort, the management and small person will probably thank you for it (your wallet definitely will…)

Have you got a local Mercedes specialist who can give the car's rear suspension and wheel set up a full inspection and diagnosis?
Something is badly wrong for such quick tyre wear.

The mechanic who told you "its the ecu that still thinks that im running 18 inches and its trying to reach the rpm by spreading the 19" is talking rubbish. Change your mechanic.

Got Michelin, s on rear now.. just changed them monday. Ill see how long they last.. did a 4x4 alignment when ive changed my last set and they said ive wasted my money.. theres nothing wrong with the alignment..
any decent alignment place, will tell you first if its out then charge you. Not do the job, charge you and say no need.

Sorry but you need to reflect on which service providers you are using.

Agreed. The ECU neither knows not cares what size wheels and tyres are fitted.
The only car I can think of where the wheel size is programmed into the ECU is a Smart Brabus where the setting is '18' or '17 and lower' and that's purely to set the speedometer accurately (18s and 17s use the same width/profile tyres).

There are 5 things that cause rapid tyre wear.
1. Abuse (hard driving)
2. Alignment.
3. Soft compounds.
4. Incorrect inflation.
5. Overloading.

From all 5 would be probably 4.. i agree with you all.. and theres few deacent mechanics in worcester area.. and the ones i been clearly are rubbish.. ill check the tire pressure and make sure its at 2 psi.. and experiment on this last set that doesn't have more than 300 miles on it. If they go ill visit the local dealer.

Thank you all for the support.. will let you know how it goes.

Some compounds of tyre are very soft.
I once tried some Michelin Pilot Super Sport, but they only lasted 6000 miles on the rears.
With very low profile tyres you'll be limited to some of the softer compounds.
Driving style will obviously affect the wear of tyres, but so will the number of acceleration cycles - lots of rushes from traffic lights will soon wear them through.
I'm about to change my current set of Continental SportContact 6 which have lasted me around 20k miles. I've found them to be a very good tyre and would recommend them.

Are you sure that no one is using your car for doing doughnuts in the local supermarket carpark? (joke)
