- Only the Vito left! W639/1 OM646
The last few days the Vito's steering developed that well known vibration at 80-85mph.
A little irritated that I was going to have to get the wheels re-balanced, I took them off to ascertain which one had possibly lost a weight and, give them a bit of a clean so I wouldn't get them re-balanced whilst covered in crud.
When the nearside wheel was taken off I was confronted with a garden snail stuck to the inside of the rim. Pulled it off and put it on the chemists balance scales wondering if a snail could possibly make that much difference. It weighed in at a hefty 10g.
Put the wheel back on (without snail) and, no more vibration.
It must have had one hell of a headache after spinning around inside the rim for 300 miles.
