Don't think that you can use those as you will never be able to balance them due to the fact that they are not hub consentric, there are loads of MB wheels almost the same on Ebay.

I have looked on this website a few times and noticed a nice set of alloys for our 97 c180.Could anyone tell me if 17 inch rims with 215/45 tyres would fit.Would they look ok or would I need to lower the suspension. The model number is RM03.The car runs on standard 15 inchers at the moment.
Thanks,Darrell

try this site and go to the wheels marked "Mercedes Prestige": http://swtyres.co.uk/wheels/

Have just bought the wheels that are very similar to the RMO3's you mentioned - 17" with tyres all for £600 fitted and balanced etc. They have a very good setup down there in Bristol and I fully recommend them.

Darrell,

... me again!

I didn't answer your question did I; if you buy a bigger wheel then you need to buy thinner profiled tyres in order that the overall circumference of the wheel does not change. You certainly do not have to lower the suspension and buy correctly, you need not worry about calibrating the speedometer either !

My e-class was on 16" wheels with 215/55 tyres. Buying the wheels I mentioned in 17" meant I had to buy 235/45 tyres.

Another consideration is road noise and bump suppression - the lower the profile of the tyre the less cushioning you'll get.

what wheels should i get for me car?

i was thinking these.....

http://www.topgear.co.uk/acatalog/4x_18_Inch_E-Racer_Hypergrey_Alloy_Wheels_With_Fed.php

but dont know if they would go with the car or if it would make the car look like a wee neddy car.

what you think?

Doyle.

Those 18'' will look great assuming they would fit, better book an aoopintlemt with a cheiropractor early though. See if they do a discount for block bookings!
My 17'' / 45 shod E is rough compared to the 16'' on my Dad's. 18'' -ouch.

Doyle sorry to say but your right thinking those wheels will make ur car look neddy(chav for those south of the border). Always better to fit genuine merc rims(how about 18" AMG`s). They`ll suit the style of the car and should not have any adverse effect on the handling.

Hi there, if you don't want to look kike a ned (haven't heard that for years....) I'd avoid wheels that are too chromed and if poss go for AMG type wheels of maybe Brabus types. Something that looks a bit original.

They look more restrained and still fill out the arches

Go for 17's -can't remebner the AMG rim widths I have but they're an inch wider at the back.

Tyre on mine are 225/45 fornts and 245/40 rears - known as the "staggered" set up.

I've seen a c280 with that set up (maybe lowered a bit too not sure) and it looked great

Fazer,I think the A-Line are the ones, their version of Aero II is a bit Ali G with the 2-piece style.Bristol is a bit of a trek but my son lives in Devon so a detour could be a possibilty on a visit down there.

You're right - its the a-lines. I think they look pretty good (on my car anyway) because they are a "solid-looking" wheel - and I'm driving a huge slab of silver coloured metal!

Pictures of the other wheels you mention can be found here - on a c-class:

Have a look at these, they are OE suppliers to MB, you can also fit the wheels onto your own car on the web site
