When is a C220 a C180????? - Boot Badging

Hi All

I'm Considering joining the lofty ranks of MB owners.

I am looking at a C220 (1994) that friend's company has in it's possession. Obviously being as thorough as possible I leafed trough the service history and log book where I noticed something what I think is odd (?)

The car is badged a C220 but the log book says a C180 - 1797cc

Is this a 1.8 or a 2.2 ? Is this car somewhat on the dodgy side!!?

look at the chassis number#


WDB018 means C180

Look at the exhaust , if its a single pipe , its a 180 , if its got twin piped out the back box , its a 200+

Hi

If the log book says its a C180 then probably is. The chassis number usually staryts WDB202018 if C180 and  WDB202020 if its a 2 litre.
