hi guys move over and make room for a little un my first time so please be gentle. been riding shotgun in hubby's boring company car for too long and life's too short so Ive done what Ive been threatening for years and bought a 93 e320 coupe.blue/black, a/c, cruise,4 speed auto, mush leather. looks the biz apart from a couple of minor tesco dings that need fettling and the heater and a/c blowing hot all the time [ duo valve ??. been reading old threads ] service history is mb dealers until 04/03 108k mile service [ actual mileage 100,200] then 3 services from the volkswagen studio [ who are they ] 117k service on 07/04 actual mileage 109k, 126k on 07/05 actual mileage 117k and last service was the 135k done on 11/06 actual mileage 126k. mileage on the car now is 133,000 and the 144,000 mile service page is looking at me with a purse busting evil grin. Can I safely do a home oil and filter change, got 8L of esso ultra 10/40 semi synthetic in the hut and stretch the service until 140k and who's the best mb specialist in south or west yorkshire

Hi and welcome.

I can see no reason why you shouldn't do an oil change yourself - it's pretty straight forward, and yes it does sound like the duovalve. As you've seen, there's loads of info on the system so diagnosis shouldn't be a problem.

Not sure where you are but there are a couple of good people in Leeds.
Scotts Auto tech (yes they are an MB specialist) on Roseville road are generally well regarded and MercCare in Pudsey www.merc-care.com are good too.

I have heard of Andy Candler in Doncaster who's supposed to be good. Plus there was another post on here wanting an independent where Rotherham came up. Quite recent so do a search under 'Rotherham'.
MB at Hull are fantastic but the bill at a dealer will be something else!
