I did a 5 hour round trip to Simply Mercedes at Beaulieu yesterday (great day out) and this is the front of my car this morning. I expected to see the corpses of dozens of bugs/flies stuck to the number plate, lights and grilles - but nothing! Either the bugs seemed to have disappeared this year OR the FSE (detail spray) I used on the car yesterday worked wonders. Who knows?

Here's the radiator (no idea where the oil cooler is). I've never cleaned the radiator so any bug debris could have been there anytime over the last 9 years.

I guessed we would find the bugs that got through the grill, incidentally your oil cooler is just behind the spoiler under the Radiator, looks like a mini rad.....

A lot of people have been reporting lack of bugs on the roads, impending ecological doom apparently!

Plenty in my garden though will pop up a night video!

Pesticides...... Butterflies are well down this year according to the counts. Wrong weather at the wrong time can have a major effect. I can't actually remember when the bugs disappeared? In the late 70's you couldn't read the front number plate after a motorway run and daren't use the wash/wipe!

There's plenty of blackfly on my runner beans if you want bugs.
Used a whole bottle of pesticide and they still take over eventually.

But..............none on my car either after the Beaulieu event.

Not wanting to derail the topic but blackfy on my runner beans is terrible too; have not touched my french beans.

If you want a great big spray then buy some neat limonene and dilute. It dissolves the bodies of bugs. yuk.
