Hi!

I'm concerned about the high fuel consuption of my car, around 36 mpg, so I bought a fuel filter in order to check if the problem is with the filter.

But, when I opened the hood I discovered a new problem: Where is the fuel fillter? I suspect that it is next to the power steering oil, but I'm not sure.

If it is so, how do I open it and how do I apply 25 N.m force?

Thanks

You're right, it's next to (left of as you look at it under the bonnet) the power steering pump. Remove the banjo bolt from the top while holding the filter canister with your other hand. Renew both 'O' ring seals and smear the rubber seal on the new filter canister with some engine oil before fitting. Don't know what the correct torque is but 25 NM sounds reasonable - you'll obviously need a torque wrench to set it correctly.
Be prepared for a little fuel spillage when removing.

Thanks, I'll try to take it of with a oil filter tool. Since I don't have a torque wrench that fits there I'll try to make the same force when removing it...
With the new filter there only was on o'ring seal, and it's diameter was greater then the filter housing.

One last thing (since I'm not english) what do you mean by banjo bolt and filter canister? Which one is the filter housing?

Thanks

Are you sure you are not getting confused between the FUEL and OIL filters? This is the FUEL filter I think which you have.
A is the canister, B is the filter housing, C is the two sealing (O-ring) washers, and D is the banjo bolt.

Ok, mission acomplished, the filter wasn't next to the power steering but under the grey cover. I've changed it and the car didn't want to start, but after a few tries, the air went out and the engine started.

One last thing, where can I get a service manual for my car?
