I have searched everywhere. Checked the 10 O'Clock position on the bellhousing but can only see the sensor shown in the pics below. Very different from the replacement cps. Can anyone help?
Sorry the pics have not attached. Don't know why not!

If you are uploading from your computer,,click on the manage attachments, below where you post an answer, go to your pictures, find the picture that you want to show, click on it, then open, then click the upload button. when uploaded and all OK you will see the image details below in the manage attachments are.

For the picture that I have uploaded here I can see the details in that box as

Thanks again Malcolm. By the way, Bosch couldn't do a replacement CPS for this model. I had to go to Mercedes - £120 + VAT. They did say that the original part had been modified.

The last photograph looks exactly like No23 in Malcolm's schematic link to my eyes

Thanks for clarifying that. I agree, the replacement cps is the same part as shown in Malcolm's diagram. However, its nothing like the sensor on my bellhousing in the position indicated on the diagram. Either the part has changed or the sensor in my pic is not the cps. If its not the cps where can the cps be located.

Engine only starts when cold and then begrudgingly after 30 seconds of cranking. Starts missing when up to temperature. Stalls then refuses to start until cold.
Replaced HT leads, distributer cap, OVP, fuel pump relay and coil in the last 12months. I can't think of anything else other than the CPS.
