Where to find VIN & chassis #

Where can I find teh VIN & Chassis# for a 2000 W208 Cab.

I have found a sticker on the drivers side below the lock mechanism, and the windows appear to be etched, but I always thought that it was stamped into the chassis, and there was a riveted plate also.

Many thanks all. I have already found these, but just wanted to check if there were any plates, or stamps on the chassis prior to buying the car today.

Past history now bit for future reference.....

On my car, the VIN can be found stamped on a cross member just under the front seat (Right hand side). There is a flap of carpet trim that needs to be lifted to expose the VIN.

Hello, first post.

Is this the only locations of the VIN? I was looking for the number on my car this morning, and i was looking on the slam panel, where i found a rivited plate with numbers and a light green sticker on the passenger side... Is the VIN on either of those stickers at all?

i knew id get that question, and i dont actually know the answer...

Its an R reg C200 saloon if that helps...

I got home from work today,and went and checked and i found what i expect is the VIN starting with W on a little piece of plastic behind the windscreen... I always though VINs were like stamped onto the car, and ive never seen a car with it showing to everybody on the outside world, i always thought they were a kind of secret thing almost!

Thats OK so yours start WDB202. If you ever need technical help, if you quote the 202 and the next 3 number exact help can be given

From looking around, im gathering that i own a W202 as the model.
