I am trying to find the correct bulbs for the side lights on my '99 CLK 320.

So far I have tried Philips W5W and T4W but neither are correct.

The T4W's were almost correct but had their lugs 180 degrees apart where as the bulbs currently fitted have them about 160 degrees apart.

Any ideas?

Not sure what you mean by the lugs.

Are they not push in type............. Phillips W5W are push in no side lugs and fit most MBs.

ProductsPhilips Blue Vision H6W Delivers a crisp, white light for your sidelights
The advanced sidelights solution

At last we have matching colour temperature in the zone of HID (High Intensity Discharge) and H1 H4/H7 lamps, for a whiter and homogeneous light. This is the end of the yellowish position lamp/city lights.
  • High colour temperature of light (3300 K)
  • Xenon gas filling
  • Coated with a high temperature resistant varnish
  • Cooler and bluer light
  • Colour perfect fitting with H1 H4/H7 and HID lamps
  • Extended lifetime, twice as long as regular sidelights

I recognise that packet. I already have 2 similar from PowerBulbs. This is costing me a fortune but I have a great sidelight bulbs collection in my toolbox now :p

Me too.

I got a set of H4 for Head/dip & H1 for fog, both Blue Vision Ultra. Got 4 free blue vision W5Ws (push in) for my side lights. So like you, I'll have a very bright Christmas tree this year.:)

Power Bulbs are not that cheap, but they have good service and are efficent.
BTW, unlike other people views, I think they are a good improvement, and look good too.

Can't fault 'em. Dan gave me a voucher code for £10 off the correct bulbs. he had also given me a voucher for £5 off the first set so i am more than happy with the service. They get my vote, thats for sure :-D
