Which engine do i have!

Merry xmas to all, i've just been reading through some of the thread results from my search for 300d, or is it 300D? My confusion is that when reading about a 1994 300D it mentions 5 cylinders, my 300D is a 1989 6 cylinder 2998cc. I'm becoming aware that there are different types of '300d' ?

The UK W123 300D had a 5-cylinder, 3-litre "617" engine

In the USA the 1987 W124 had a 5-cylinder, 3-litre "603" engine with a turbo which was replaced in 1990 by a 6-cylinder, 3-litre "602" turbo engine

UK W124 300Ds from 1985 had a 6-cylinder, 3-litre 12-valve "602" engine and the post-1993 W124 E300 Diesel had a 6-cylinder, 3-litre 24-valve "606" engine

just enter your vin in the russian site,

the engine will come up there, so you are sure, also go to a dealership with your vin, they will tell you too.
