The AMG version is always better than a straight kompressor, I think that esprit is just a name.

A bit of a misnomer - Kompressor is just a name for forced induction - notably a supercharger on a Mercedes. AMG is a tuning branch that offer normally aspirated and forced induction cars. AMGs are inherently more expensive than the standard MBs they're based on.
Esprit is just a trim level like Avantgarde.
