Which oil

Hi
Recently purchased a 1999 SLK 230K for the wife.
I have been told the oil & filter has just been changed.
But they have used Semi synthetic 10/40 oil
Am i right in thinking it should be Fully syntetic ??
If so i will change again with Mobil 1 0-40 is this the correct oil to use.
For reference the car has done just over 50K.

Yes it should be fully synthetic. Your manual will state the correct grade of oil to use, most people use 0W-40 Mobil 1.

Mercedes does have a list of app oils. Semi synthetics are on it. Just change at 1/2 the recommended interval. Dont throw it away..
