Which Tyres... Mercedes ML 270 cdi 2002 Auto 7 seater...

I have a Mercedes ML 270 cdi 2002 Auto 7 seater
The Tyre size on my wheels is: 275 / 55 / R17
I live in Manchester UK
Normal driving condition (around town) and some motorway too
Please any suggestion on which tyres to purchase for my vehicle and also where from ?

Continental Cross Contact will likely be the recommended tyre.

A mate has just fitted them to his 15-reg ML and they seemed smooth & quiet when I was in it last week.

There will be a few options for you - is it all road miles that you do?

Don't know if you'll get them in your size, but have been very impressed with the Coopers I put on the other half's XC60. Smooth, quiet, better handling..... my Dad's Freelander 2 has them now too!
