CLK270cdi
Annual mileage - 40k (motorway)
Driving style - very relaxed (almost to the point of asleep)

Not sure which tyres to get fitted:
- Michelin Pilot Primacy
- Michelin Pilot Sport 2
- ContiSport Contact 2

Have been told that I should fit tyres which are 'MO' only ie Mercedes only as the tyre manufacturers make the tyre differently for the Benz.

Any ideas?

Hi Zed,

I have just replaced my back 2 tyres (40,000 miles) on my C220 CDI from spec which were Continental ContiSport Contact 2 to Pirelli P6000, both V rated.

I am now finding that i have a lot more grip at the backend than i did before. Pirelli are cheaper as well, though next test will be the millage.

Hi Zed

You will find several threads concerning tyre choice/selection in the relevent subsection of this forum.

I replaced my original Continentals with Toyo Proxes T1Rs a few days ago. So far I am very happy with my choice. The performance improvement in grip, noise reduction, braking, handling is quite marked. I'm sure other makes offer similar gains.

Hi Zed
I have just replaced rear Continental tyres with Michelin Pilot Primacy on C220CDI.

Grip is a lot better and the fuel consumption has shown a reduction.

Incidently, I do about 30K miles pa.
