This all began last weekend when i replaced the micro switch and pins in the connector for the micro switch for the manual handle for opening the boot lid on my car last weekend. By the way that was a really fiddling job aned especially to crimp on the new pins on the 2 wires.

After i was done with this job i started to look at the left side and right side wedge/stopper on the boot lid on my car and i thought that the wedges/stoppers was sitting the wrong way on my car so i turned them to how they sit placed in the pictures below.

But now after looking at the pictures of the wedge/stoppers in the boot on my car i begin to wonder if i have turned them the wrong way.

Looking at and comparing with the drawing from Mercedes that shows the right side wedge/stopper in the boot

I know that 2002-04 Mercedes SL R230 have the type of wedge/stopper in the boot as shown on the pictures
Note 2005 and newer Mercedes SL R230 have facelift wedges/stoppers that is diffent.

Can any of my fellow members here that have a 2002-04 SL, R230 post a picture on how the wedges/stoppers sit on the boot lid on their car?

Shown on the picture below is the left side boot lid wedge/stopper

Here is parts drawing from Mercedes showing the right side wedge/stopper in the boot. It is part 50 and the red arrow points towards the wedge/stopper in the boot

It's amazing what you can do with a go pro ;)
I can do the same with my SLR. Fire up the app on the phone and it gives remote live view and remote shutter release.

Sorry for this late reply. No i did not go in or get stuck in the boot :):)

I set my iphone on filming, put it in the trunk, orientaded the phone so it filmen the "wedges" and also put a flash light in there.

So the picture i s a screnshot from the film i took using my phone :):)

I really can not underwstand why i did not think of using my phone to film the wedges when closing the boot lid a long time ago....
