Hi and good morning all!
After having my B service on the weekend I have noticed a ‘whining’ noise coming from the engine whilst at low speeds. When I go faster you can’t hear it - it’s when I begin to slow down or take off!
Any ideas – is this normal for a diesel engine as I cannot recall this noise previously.
Thanks

Did they change the fanbelt? My last car made a similar noise once the alternator began to fail.

Its ok Skeller. He's a fellow AUS patriot. We have been having a Furnace like heatwave over here and we are all starting to show signs of extraordinary brilliance. I am sure Oigle will recover shortly.
Now back to the problem. I think it is an alternator related problem and probably has to do with the alternator being worn and taking some time to warm up .
