Right!!! so after a year of trouble free drive, my CLK wants me to spend some money on it again!!! SO time for your expert opinion guys...

I get a whining noise from the front , cannot figure out if its the left side or right side... I blame my GPS for taking me through "A" roads on way back from Prestwick airport as i remember going through many bumps and holes ....
Engine runs fine...accelerates fine...but as it reaches 40mph it starts giving noises, i tried putting in "N" while moving to see if its the transmission that maybe causing the noise, but the noise didnt stop. I jacked up the car and tried spinning the front wheel but didnt hear any thing...maybe as i didnt hit 40mph spinning it with my hands!!! o and their isnt any loose body guards that maybe causing the noise due to air passing through... aaaand I havent been to any garage as i am not sure which garage to go to ....

Any suggestions to what that noise can be...or which garage i shoudl take it to get checked...i was thinking KWIKFIT to just get the idea of whats wrong and then to some proper garage!!!

Thanks in advance for your help guys.

Its a wheel bearing,, by jacking the car at the front and rotating a wheel the faulty one will feel a little viabration as you turn it,, in other words you will feel the rollers as you turn it the good on will feel silky smooth and nothing

It will just get worse, the niose that is but not by that much.

They are simple to change by car standards with just the brake calliper to move and the center lock nut.

If you want to do it your self just ask for the info

yes as malcolm said very easy job to do but dont leave it! seen so many 208 eat the abs sensors and other parts, once they go you could end up spending a lot of money, worst way, new stub axle, hub, disk, and so on,
