Hi,

This morning when washing my car I found white spay on the front, passenger side and at the back of the car.:-( It looks like white paint! I can't remove it while washing the car. Since I wash my cars every weekend it must happened last week.
It might be road works? I use the Mercedes every day to commute to my work. Driving M5 j3, M42, M40 j12. Are there any other people with this?

Any one has any idea how to remove it?

Thanks,
Biton

First thing you could try is turnentine, it will not hurt the car,but it will remove the paint if it is oil based.

Ok, Thanks television.

Will look around for that stuff. It will be a hell of a job since I found that it's even on the rimms...

Do you know if the paint of the car (2003 W203) is water based or oil (thinners) based? I still have a drum (25l) of water based spraygun cleaner laying around. This stuff doesn't harm oil based paint but removes water based paint.

paint is water based on a 2003 model. Tread carefully.

Only the base coat, not the top two pack.

Got some off!

Well, I just spend my lunch brake and used my finger nail to try to remove it. I have cleared the truck cover by now. It looks more like glitter, metal?, than paint. It's looks like the glitter what you will find in metallic paint.

Hopefully the weather it will stay like this fot the rest of the week so I can use my lunch brakes to remove it.

By the looks of it, it must have been something like a moister of small glitter things where I was driven through. But it must be low by the ground since it's not above the wheels.

Well it isn't dust... It might be from a grinder at road works? There was some road works going on on the M40 last week. It really sticks on the paint but I can scrape it off with my finger nail.

When you finger nails are worn down, I will send you some false ones, they fix on with instant glue. Strange things finger nails, I could not think of anything else that would not scratch the surface.

Be careful, I once attacked some stubborn bird droppings on the roof of the better halfs A class using my nails. I was washing the car and it was just turning dark, when I came out to the car the next day I could see obvious scratches in the paintwork where I had been scraping and it took some determined effort with car polish to sort it out.

Yeah, but bird droppings I remove it with warm water. First I soak it for some time and then try to remove it with a soft rag.

A watered down light T cut soon makes the finnish like new, it removes old wax and road film. I have done this for the past 45 years on hundreds of cars.
