I'd just had a puncture on this tyre sorted & was cleaning all the sticky goo from the old weights before the wheel went back on :(
can't decide whether to get it welded - I could weld it myself at work :D or just get a replacement.

That would be me…;)

I’d get a replacement and weld it as a spare - check the others…

That will weld no problem the crack length shouldn’t be any longer than 25mm I had my local wheel specialist weld one of my son’s W213 20in wheels the other month couldn’t see the repair super job

so @EmilysDad own up, how fast was you driving over the speed bump.....
I do try to keep it slow when driving over them .... but we all forget sometimes & hit them a little faster than we should.

I've no idea how long this wheel has been like it, it was only removed for a puncture .... unless the tyre bay finished it off for me, I left it with them.

looking at the pic there looks to be some lifting of the finish at the bottom 1/2 of the crack - unless I am mistaken. If that is so, I would say the cracks been there a while and possibly EmilysMum has been rallying up kerbs.....

I have to agree, sometimes those humps are easy to miss and one realises only when they get the jolt.

I bent one of my winter wheels hitting a pothole at nearly 60 when a car coming the other way drifted onto my side. I “straightend” it with a wooden block and a sledgehammer… no vibration or crack and still good 3 years later. I half expected to have cracked the wheel but the sidewall saved it.

I agree, it does look like it could have been there a while.

EmilysMum is completely blameless though, the furthest she's driven it is around a camping field a couple of times
