Most enjoyable

..read.

Excellent opinions, thoughts, summary and the rest just what I needed after one of those days and which after reading prompted me to break my self imposed sabbatical...

So now to lower the tone at this early hour: -

The oik driving the expensive piece of plastic no doubt has more money in his back pocket than the sum of salary's, savings, bingo winnings, tax rebates, tins under the bed and not forgetting the undeclared earnings of all those 'stalwarts' who have responded to this subject either that or his 'daddy' will foot the bill.

As to the Mazda driver well what does one expect!

Now to the causation, methinks the leggy blonde was getting down and dirty on the baseball hatted oik who was just about to enjoy the fruits of her efforts when this 'Richard' head Mazda type popped out of no where and spoiled a good ending - so to speak!

..... a good night from me:Oops:

A Jag. Jags are my favourite.
Good job there weren't any pedestrians or cyclists in the road when that happened.

My simple question..

What was somebody doing filming bugger all (until the crash)?
The accident, which happened on Sunday afternoon, was filmed by stunned onlooker Thomas Melsens and obtained by the supercar website Shmee150.

Thomas said: ‘I heard the Lamborghini coming so I started recording but this was the absolute last thing I ever imagined I would end up witnessing.’

Funny how in the article they go on about how much money the Aventador was worth. If I could afford one, I'd buy a Bentley.

I think there may be something in that comment. One wonders if a driver's level of caution is in part proportional to the ability to pay 'the damages'.

I've often thought the same in relation to drivers who are driving a company vehicle on company insurance, who thus don't have as much to lose as the chap who finances his own motoring. There is little incentive to give way or observe the common courtesies that used to be, but these days seem much less apparent than in days of yore.

The lack of courtesy, or to put it another way the increase in the 'me' attitude is easily observable in all areas of life, especially walking in crowded places and shopping in stores and supermarkets. It's very sad, but aggressive self-centredness seems to perpetuate itself in others. Driving is just one, albeit probably the most dangerous, manifestation of it.

would be amusing if he got the usual botch job most cheap insurers preferred accident repair centres provide.

You can just imagine it, filler, a show of a spray can to the bodywork and hey presto.

That car's going to maintain it's value!

Unlikely if he is with a specialist insurer. The Lambo had a yellow rear reg plate (UK-Cyprus-Luxembourg-Netherlands-Gibraltar) All of these countries will have specialist, and compulsory min 3rd party cover. The summer "visitors" are often from countries with no insurance requirements at all. In fact I saw a TV programme where an Aventador was towed because it's UAE owner had no insurance at all. He got it back once cover was bought.

My sis has a friend who had her Ferrari 612 T-boned, albeit lightly at a junction. Courtesy car for the next 6-7 months=Bentley Continental GT Speed.

When my old W210 was tailended 3 years ago I got the usual Micra!

I was offered something similarly useless a few years ago and I rejected the offered car, saying I needed something bigger.. got a V40, a huge step up on a micra.

Always ask the worst they can say is no.

I fully agree. I would say that most of my close misses in the local town centre are with Range Rover Woman, yapping into the phone, going to point B and no-one is going to stop, or inconvenience her. Surely they all leave the factory with bluetooth etc? Or is it simply sheer arrogance?

Quite possibly self-insured.

I don't know if they all come with Bluetooth as standard but I'm pretty sure the downright arrogance is a customer supplied option. ;)
Driving around the different parts of Bristol it's quite funny noticing the difference between a young lad in his Carlos Fandango Corsa seeing what he can get away with (aka an idiot) and in one particular area, pretty much anybody in their very expensive whatever getting away with being completely oblivious to anything going on around them whatsoever (aka a w@nker).
I think Dosco / exjag had a valid point about being able to afford to have an 'accident' and as a result everything becomes everyone else's fault / problem.
