Wierd air con issue

with MB2 plugged in my air con works , its not very cold but it does what it should, unplug it , the red light stays on and won't turn off , any idea why ?? There were no codes other than a motor flap

Although i don't use air con the OCD in me wants it to work, will book it in fir a check next week

If you don’t use aircon ,it stops working anyway

If you do not use it at least once a week for a good 20 mins the seals dry out and then the refrigerant leaks out. When you have it checked ask them to put some ultraviolet dye into the gas and them you can see if there are any leaks.

Always use it.
It’s a negligible effect on mpg.

But if you don’t use, expensive to replace seals & regas.....
