Wierd Electrics on E230

Hi all, Hope you can help!

I am having trouble with the eletrics on my E230, namely the heater and rear window demister.

When you switch on the heater you either get hot air or cold and I thought the rear demister didnt work at all.

I was fiddling with the fuses under the bonnet (always a bad thing to do) and I dropped the no4 10amp fuse that controls the instrument cluster and couldnt retrieve it. it went down under the fuses box. :Oops:

I didnt have a replacement fuse so drove to local Halfords and i noticed the light on switch for rear demister came on which had never done before. I put in new fuse and light on switch does not come on.

Any ideas why this would happen please?

The first thing that you should do is to get some non drying switch cleaner (maplins) and spray all of the fuse holders and relay pins
