Will a new Blaupunkt from the USA work in the UK?

Forgive my ignorance, but would a new cd/radio work in the UK or are the radio frequencies different?

Why don't you look on the Blaupunkt websites for the USA and UK and compare technical details?

The US models don't have RDS RDS-EON-PTY or Traffic announcements (TA)

And MW frequencies are different!

The North Americans use different channel spacing (10Khz rather than 9) so you won't be able to use the radio unless you can switch the channel spacing not usually something you can do with car radios.

It is possible to change the frequency spacings as Japanese Import cars have the same problem, but I can,t remember what the bit of kit is called, but they are not to expensive if my memory serves me right.

This is what it used for the Japanese imports as they have a reduced FM band.

American comand units from MOST based cars do not work here in europe and vice-versa. They use completely different technologies.

COmand 2 from earlier vehicles do work although the channel spacing is different. this can be fixed with STAR though
