I have a new (facelift) C180 and there is a very high level of wind noise betweet the front and rear doors and the door mirrors.

My dealer said this is a 'characteristic' of the car, I tried another one and this had the same noise. Two work collegues have also have the new C-class and they both complain of the same problem. Passengers in my car have also commented.

I've read some other threads on this forum but think they relate to the pre-facelift model. Has anyone else experienced this problem, especially on the later model?

Could there have been a change in design, fit or materials recently?

Hope you can help, it's driving me mad!

Wind noise in C-class

Hello Simon

I have driven the model you mention and it doesn't have a wind noise problem, at least not the one I drove.

I am irritated by dealers who describe a 'problem' as a 'feature'. If you examine the door seals you will soon discover that wind noise is extremely unlikely in the C-class UNLESS there is a problem with the door/seals/alignment.

I own an earlier C-class and this doesn't suffer wind noise. The new C180 and C200 models I drove were quiet too.

Tyre noise ... ahhh ... that's a different matter. But I'm working on it.

REGARDS Phil

My c180 facelift is going for its service a next week and I have informed them to look at the door seals and alignment as there is i also have a lot of wind noise. the $tealer did mention this is a common complaint and they will look at this - no mention of being a characteristic. i suppose i'll find out when it comes back from service. I will let you know
