Window Wiper - stops in drivers view

Hi I need some help, I have a 1995 C180 with a dodgy wiper, when you turn it off or put it on intermitant it stops in the drivers view, half way between the top and the bottom of the windscreen.
Being a tight sod.......does anybody have a price for correcting this problem?

I have a 96 C180. Does the same. I have just put up with it. It prob needs some oil i guess!!

SOunds like a problem with the intermittent wipe relay. Check in the fuse box it wil be one of the plug in square boxes in there. See if you can get hold of another one to test.

Matt, thanks for your reply...I will try and find another relay.
Just an update, it is now staggering when switched on(just like me on a Friday night).

Hi Brad,

The problem will either be the relay or motor. As for the stagering. Try a little grease on the wiper arm spindle. Lift up the little grey or black cover at the base of the arm. Turn the wiper when in the fully extended position. And apply a little grease to the spindle. This should help.

The relay is about £76plus vat the motor depends on chassis number. There are a couple of types.
