On top of the head gasket issues I'm experiencing, the front windows have now gone on the blink..

Drivers side has had an intermittent fault for a while and fully conked out this weekend with the window down. Stripped the door card out and removed the motor which refused to turn (although it made one defiant last half turn and then just clicked when switched - a relay?)

the regulator seems fine, lifted the window back to the closed position and reattached the dead motor to hold it in place.. annoyingly the glass must have dropped a couple of mm whilst I tightened everything up so I have intrusive wind noise to boot...

The passenger window now appears to want to get in on the act, again this has always been a bit slow but finally stopped with the window half open (this side of the car was getting the full blast of the sun which I suspect has caused some expansion/overheating issues)... 20 minutes later we try again and with a bit of pulling get the window shut. Havn't tried it since.

Both rear windows are positively sprightly and the sun roof works fine.

The fuse to the the windows appears fine, in both instances it appears the motors are at fault however (no mechanical noises or free wheeling motor noise):

a. can I open up the switches without removing the centre console (which looks a bit of a faff) to check these are getting power.

b. what is the best source of new motors (if they are at fault) - not sure a breakers would be the best option.

c. am I missing something obvious here?

Advice most appreciated.
