Hi guys so I’m wondering if there is any solution to the below pictures. The window trim has some kind of stain or decolorisation, I think this is due to something corrosive of very front some just pored. When I bought the car, this was already in place.

Whatever it is looks to me to be lying on the surface, first I would try very hot water on a piece of towel, if that does not work I would try Autosol applied lightly.

It’s not at the surface, but will give a try with metal polisher. Ps: didn’t work with any cleaning product

You cant lose anything by trying but I only see 3 options.

1. Replace
2. Wrap
3. Spray

I can't imagine what has done that and not damaged the paintwork as well.
Could the door have been resprayed?
If its actually etched into the trim e.g. you can feel a dip at each mark then I'm with LJohn, although my preference would be to replace them.

Have you tried some polish or T-Cut on a small area to see if it makes any difference?

This product will save the day:
Hindsight Aluminium Trim Restorer

Tired of dull, blotchy trim around the windows of your Audi, Mercedes, BMW and many other cars ? The roof bars on estates also show the same problem, but Hindsight has it covered... Our simple 2 stage kit contains sufficient product to polish up and protect these areas which have been hitherto almost impossible to correct. The best bit is, its easily done by hand and doesnt take very long either.

The Kit contains 2 pots of product - 15ml each of Polish and Protective Wax with Teflon, plus cloth and 2 quality applicators.

I can’t feels any dip into the paint or trim. I will try metal polish next day off.

Clay bar wont work as that only deals with things stuck on the surface, you need to penetrate the surface to restore this material. That's why polish wont either.

Did you soak some tissue and leave it on for about 10 minutes?

No, that’s I haven’t done. Monday will try, car polish, metal polish. And white vinagre and see if any will do any difference. If not.. I will replace it. I might find on eBay or junkyard some trims :)

Woah. Are these supposed to be chrome/silver?
Mine are a gunmetal colour which I quite like but never thought they had discoloured.
Be gentle, I've not had the car that long.
