Windscreen Claim??

Friday 13th hit, I discovered a crack in the windscreen of my W164 on the way home on Friday.

I have screen cover on my policy with +/-100 excess. Although I have max NCB (protected), if I claim for the screen would I be right in assuming that it will affect my premium?

I have 3 cars and a motorhome to insure, would it be cheaper in the long run just to pay for a new screen myself +/-£600.

As above, a claim for a wndscreen won't affect your NCB nor should it increase your policy at renewal.
That is my experience anyway.

I have had about 5 screens in 20 years , never affected anything policy wise

As said, no effect on premiums but you will have to declare it on future quotes for the next 5 years.

No issue with insurance as per above it won’t load your premiums next year.

Just make sure that the sensors are all calibrated (if required) and working correctly afterwards.

It's definitely not classed as a motor insurance claim on most policies. To be absolutely sure about your own policy just check with your insurer.
