WINDSCREEN WIPER COMES ON AUTOMATICALLY

CAN SOMEONE HELP?

On my S500 Mercedes 1994 auto, my windscreen wipers come on as I am driving along the road. It does not happen every day but when it does I have to put on the wiper switch to get them to return to the normal position.
Has anyone had this problem and what is the answer.
Please help!!

I'd be looking at the switch itself. You dont have rain sensing wiper son a '94 model do you?
