Help: I own a 1993 C class, done just over 100k & is still a great car. Just lately the wiper has started to play up - works fine at first, then starts to play up: it slows, starts to stop and very slowly returns.......

I've looked on Euro car parts & see I can get a new motor for about £80.00 plus Vat: Does anyone have experience with this kind of thing, because I notice that they also sell the Linkage for about £250!

Is there a way I can check if it's the motor or the linkage that need replacing?

Thanks

Its ony the linkage that needs lubricating Simon, there is a very good article here somewhere on how to do it.

If you cant find it Blobcat will find it in seconds.

Great advice from all you guys as usual: I'll give it a go at the weekend.

Thanks

I used the website you recommended, popped the Clamshell cover off, covered it in lithium grease & re-set the starting position of the wiper (it had got jammed halfway up the screen)

It all took about an hour & now works fantastically!

I think I'll put my Haynes manual in the bin!

Thanks
