Windshield Washer

Just got my 2003 SLK230 the other day. Went to put some windshield washer fluid in the receptacle for it but it all drained out the bottom of the car. Seems the receptacle goes into the fender wall but can't see the bottle. Will call the dealer tomorrow but any ideas why???

Went to the dealer he showed me 2 others that did that. Seems they have an overfill but I can't understand why. One person on the net said it was a factory defect & some dealers are siliconing it closed. Spoke with MB customer service tech support who were totally useless.

the bit where u pour the water into is only a funnel

there is no need to silicone this part up it only holds 1/2 pint if that

But there must be a better way to fill it instead of having it drip out to know when it is full.

Why then does my Low Screen wash lamp Light when the fluid leaks-it never happen before and what about the waste of WATER and Screen Wash
Interesting to see what the Capacity is of screenwash bottle but I am sure it was more than ' .5l' on previous top ups......

Not looking for the extra 1/2 pint, but this way you would know when it was full by seeing it come to the top without it spilling on the floor from the over full.
