E class estate 400d 4matic 2020
just purchased a 2020 E class estate 400d 4matic. I am looking for a set of winter alloys and tyres. My question is - Will any size of alloy for the e class fit or i need a set that are stepped? any advice or info would be appreciate!

Hello and welcome,

Have a look in the manual / inside the fuel filler cap - you might be able to have a “square” setup for you winters (I have on my SLK)
Alternatively check in the “MyTyres” website - you can see the available options after you’ve entered your vehicle details.
I bought my winter wheels from them in 2018, along with the hubcenteic fitting kit and wheel bolts.

I tend to fit the same size all round for my winter tyres and wheels, cheaper and allows for rotation of tyres as the rears always wear out first.
Generally, recommended tyres and wheels are narrower and of smaller rim diameter than summer fitment.

Be cautious about some recommendations from online sellers, especially if you are looking to drive to a winter location that requires snow chains. The MB recommendations in the handbook will mark which fitments are NOT suitable for snow chain use.

Have a look through the sales/wanted section of the forum.

Welcome. Have you considered all season tyres as an alternative? I put Michelin Cross Climates on mine last time. I haven’t had to use them in snow but they are wearing really well as all year tyres and have the correct Alpine symbol on them to keep European authorities happy.

Thanks for the advice. I live in a rural area - don't get lots of snow but many of the roads are untreated. Will follow through on the suggestions!
