The wiper on my C280 became sluggish mid wipe and eventually stopped on a very rainy night. I could still hear the motor working so decided to investigate. Upon opening the gearing cover, I see that the wiper is driven by a plastic cog, however my one is now smooth as the teeth have been ground away by the motor driving against the stuck wiper. Think I know the answer to this one, but does anyone know if it is possible to replace the plastic gearing or am I looking at a complete motor and gearing. Hope others learn from this the value of lubricating the very inaccessible wiper drive mechanism and not just the arm. Photo attached.

Thanks Pascal - I have sent them an e-mail asking the above question.

Thanks Nick, that is interesting - At the minute I'm trying to remove the motor - so far unsuccessfully, as it is well recessed and very awkward to get at. I'll get back to you when / If I manage to remove the damaged part.
