A daft little tale..... The single wiper on my C200 suddenly started seriously juddering and was jumping a spot right in front of my viewpoint. It was bad enough for me to suspect worn/broken wiper couplings.  In desperation and late on a friday night with a trip to london due in the morning I resorted to a visit to Halfords ( Aaargh! ).   Being mean and having spent all the pocket money my wife had given me for the week I looked at the Halfords own brand wiper and complete with box and packaging it was lighter and felt flimsier than the Merc one I had just taken off, so  I  opened the box and found a really lightweight, rubbish looking wiper.  Reluctantly realising I was going to have to spend money I looked at the bosch wipers further along the rack and lo and behold they were virtually identical to my Mercedes one ( Were Bosch original eqip? ), and it turned out to be cheaper than the Halfords own brand.  Weird pricing policy Mr Halford.  In any case - the Bosch one solved the problem, but I am amazed at just how sudden and serious the 'bounce of the perfect looking blade was - missing a good 2 inches of screen.

Stewart.

I had the same problem on my E class, unfortunatly Halfords didn't list one for mine, so i paid vast sums of my pocket money at my local Mercedes jewelers, for a genuine diamond encrusted article, only to find it was a Bosch unit, Toys right out of the pram!!

So come on Dave, how much from you??

Hi All,

The biggest thing you are all missing. Is that you can by the rubbers by them selves. They have just gone to a new 208 number. £5 and some pence each plus the vat. Easy to fit.

My problem occurs when we carry out routine servicing and my customers have fitted Halfords or some such rubbish make blade. Then I have no option but to fit a complete blade. If you fit the bosch blade again you can't fit the replacment rubbers. So before you change from the original blade check out the replacment rubbers. If you need the full part number, post  the request on this forum and I will get for you it for you.

As ever regards

The OE suppliers for wipers are either bosch or swf.

If you get the correct bosch wiper then replacement rubbers will fit.

How much was the halfords jobby?

we do a universal fit bosch blade for most single blade systems for only £6.50 +vat, it will take the refils as well!
