Wiper comes on when turned off.

I have a 1996 C180 Estate,i have a problem with the Window wiper coming on intermittently when it is in the off position,this can be very annoying .Does it need a new switch and if so were would be the best place,or is there a simple fix.

Welcome to the forum, this is a fairly common problem in cars the age of your's and I am sure it has been covered recently.
It probably is the combination switch, not really serviceable so it's a matter of replacement. The part costs about £80 inc.vat. from the main dealer or slightly less from the likes of http://www.eurocarparts.co.uk/. But if you intend fitting the switch yourself obtain a workshop manual first as you have to remove the airbag and the steering wheel. Haynes manual 3511 covers your car.
