Wiper has mind of its own

Hi, the wiper on my e220 coupe has a mind of its own when its raining heavily and after it has just rained, After i have finished indicating the wiper comes on every now and then, This never happens during dry times. could my indicator stalk be faulty or require an internal clean??

I had this problem with my C200, took it to Mercare and was told I needed a new wiper motor and wiper linkage, totalling hundreds of pounds, however, they stripped it down and lubricated it all for me for £30 and it works ok now! Mine's an older merc 1994 so probably not the same problem for a modern one!

I had the same problem on my E220 coupe: the wiper would come on of its own accord, especially just after the indicator had been used. My local Merc specialist swapped the relay for a second-hand one, and that seems to have cured the fault. Hasn't cost me anything yet, but I imagine he will bill me eventually... (I believe a new relay costs in the region fo £80)

Cheers for all the help, i will deffo look into gettina new relay, but as it would happen the wiper is behaving itself at the moment so fingers crossed it stays that way.
